Yeah, it’s been a while. No, I was not in jail. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
So enough with the catching up. I’m well into the next Colt Harper story (and by “well into” I mean not nearly close to being done), and I now have a working title: Blood Brothers.
It’s not a sequel. It’s more a further exploration of what happened to a couple of characters only alluded to in Deep Blood. This story reunites Colt with Flip Wilson, the man who was with Moonpie Jones the night the latter died. If you want that particular story, you can read it here or in the “Fiction” tab at the top. Look for “The Booze Rumor.”
I’m thinking it’s going to be a little Joseph Conrad Meets Flannery O’Connor: a dark tale of a descent into madness to find grace and redemption. So you know there’s going to be violence and bad language. Oh, and for all you Deep Blood fans, yes, of course Lydia makes her return. Stay tuned.
